REQUEST FOR PRE-PROPOSALS
TECHNOLOGY INCENTIVE GRANTS (TIG) FY2009 - 10
The Office of Academic Affairs, through the Office of Research, invites pre-proposals from academic faculty and departments for Idaho Technology Incentive Grant projects. The deadline for submission is 3 pm, Friday, January 30, 2009. Pre-proposals will be reviewed internally to determine full proposal submissions to the State Board of Education on March 13, 2009, with funding to begin July 1, 2009. Please note: current TIG project directors seeking continued support through the TIG must respond to this RFP.
For 2009-2010 internal priority will be given to developing, delivering, and supporting sustainable programming that provides access, affordability, and flexibility.
Idaho Technology Incentive Grants Program goals are focused upon:
- Technology that is new to a campus, even though it may already exist and be used regularly at other postsecondary institutions.
- Technology that impacts or affects a substantial number of students and/or helps address campus challenges in serving a large or special student population. Collaborative learning and team building is encouraged.
- Techniques for assisting teachers in developing computer-based instruction. Can new methods be found to assist faculty in using WWW and multimedia for instruction?
- Concepts that further professional development and support. New approaches to teacher preparation and staff development that lead to changes in teaching styles are critical to the effective integration of technology.
TIG Pre-proposals shall be composed of a one page (max.) summary that describes project goals and objectives, and also describes how these relate to the larger ITIG Program goals. Prep-proposals shall also include a rough budget.
Of particular interest are:
- Entry-level and "core" course development
- High demand courses with stable curricula
- Courses designed, developed and delivered via an instructional team approach
- Courses that are sustainable both economically and in the sense that they are likely to be offered on an ongoing basis
Other proposals will be reviewed and forwarded as funding permits.
The 2009-2010 State Board of Education's TIG Request for Proposals will soon be posted on the Instructional Technology Resource Center page:
