Academic Committee of the Technology Review & Information Group
Charge
The Academic Committee of the Technology Review and Information Group (AC-TRIG) serves as a liaison between the University academic community and Information Technology Services, and it provides a source of information and advice relating to academic technological resources such as microcomputing, distance learning, networking, and telecommunications, both on and off campus. AC-TRIG advises the Technology Review and Information Group (TRIG) on campus academic computing and technology needs, solutions, and resource requirements.
Background
The Academic Committee of the Technology Review and Information Group (AC-TRIG) replaces the Computing Systems Advisory Committee (CSAC). AC-TRIG was formed as part of the reorganization of the Technology Oversight Council (TOC) and its related organizations and subcommittees during 2005.
Supplemental Academic Computing Fund
AC-TRIG solicits, reviews, and recommends funding for Supplemental Academic Computing Fund (SACF) proposals. Links to the 2008 CFP materials and information forthcomming:
Governance
AC-TRIG reports its recommendations and findings to the president through the Technology Review and Information Group (TRIG). The chair of AC-TRIG is a member of TRIG's executive committee.
Under TRIG are five committees: the Academic Committee (AC-TRIG), Web Services Council,
Clinical Computing, Administration (TIGER), Technology Innovation Committee (TIC), and Research. The executive
committee includes Kay Flowers, the campus CIO (Randy Gaines), two deans (currently Harris and Stratton),
and the five TRIG committee chairs. This governance body replaced TOC and CSAC.
