Student Union Building (Pond)

Opened in 1959 and enlarged to twice its original size in 1966, the Student Union offers activities and programs for students so they may have the chance to develop socially, personally, and culturally. Some of these programs include dances, art exhibits, concerts, and professional staff and is additionally run by student committees appointed by the student senate. The Student Union includes dining facilities for 800 persons, a movie theater seating 432, recreation and video games area, a ballroom which seats 1,000, two art galleries, conference and guest rooms, newspaper offices, bookstore, beauty salon, post office and a bakery.
