Portneuf Medical Center (West) is a non-profit hospital owned by the citizens of Bannock county, and has served Southeast Idaho's health care needs since 1907.
Portneuf Medical Center is accredited by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and is licensed by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. Portneuf operates under the direction of its administrator and is governed by a volunteer Governing Board appointed by the Bannock County Commission.
