Library (Oboler) |
Constructed in 1977, the Eli M. Oboler Library is one of the largest educational facilities of its type in Idaho. It contains more than one million books, periodicals, microfilms, and government documents for federal, state, and local agencies. Since 1910, the library has been a depository for U.S. Government publications; in 1966, it became a depository for all nonsecret publications of the Atomic Energy Commission.
Additionally, the library is the home for the ISU Media center that provides distance education, instructional technology, photographic services, satellite broadcasting of classes, and audio visual equipment services.
Also available in this building are conference rooms, a rare book room, the Intermountain West Collection, a student lounge, a computer laboratory, a digital lab, the Instructional Technology Resource Center (ITRC), a satellite coordinator, Special Collections, the Idaho Health Sciences Library, instruction and off-campus services, public services and copy services.
