ISU degree programs on the DHS STEM Designated Degree Program List
The table below lists all ISU degree programs that are assigned CIP codes published by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES CIP codes) that have been designated by ICE as science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) degrees for the purpose of approving a 17-month STEM extension of optional practical training (OPT) under the provisions of 8 CFR 214.2(f)(10)(ii)(C).
To qualify for the 17 month extension, you must have a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in a STEM field. Associate degrees do not qualify. If you do not see your degree program listed here, it is because it is assigned a CIP code not on the designated list.
