Course Title

Idaho Modular Radiological Emergency Response Training (IMERRT): Technician


Description

This course provides radiological fundamentals for persons trained at the Hazardous Material Technician and Specialist Level. Information covered in this course includes the four basic types of ionizing radiation and radiological terminology; use of radiological survey instrumentation; radiation levels and associated information contained on radiation warning labels; contamination and exposure control and reduction techniques; decontamination methods. This course also includes a hands-on practical exercise using radiological instrumentation.

Target Audience

This course is designed to serve the needs of advanced level responders from Hazardous Response Teams and individuals who are responsible for radiological assessments, including radiation measurements, contamination control and offensive measures should attend this training.
