MANAGING CIVIL ACTIONS IN THREAT INCIDENTS (MCATI): AWARENESS

Description

This course is designed to teach first responders to prepare for and successfully mitigate threat incidents involving civil disorder. Topics included are a historical perspective of civil disturbances, mobile field force team tactics, crowd behavior, demonstrator tactics, room and store entries, vertical building patrol, use of force during civil disturbances, special threats, mass arrest, less lethal munitions, and riot control agent familiarization used during civil disturbances. This course also culminates with a field exercise.

Prerequisite Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Individuals with a working knowledge of law enforcement tactics and operations.

Target Audience

Individuals representing Law Enforcement agencies

Delivery

Instructor delivered at field locations identified by and coordinated with the sponsoring agencies throughout Idaho

Course Length

40 Hours

Student Expectations

For course completion eligibility, students are expected to be in attendance during the entire length of the course and successfully complete all aspects of any assignment, testing and/or evaluation.
