Course Title

Transportation Security Awareness

Description

Newly developed course designed to provide a basic understanding of WMD, the threat of terrorism, and the appropriate response as they relate to transportation. The course also covers security issues unique to terrorist events, appropriate notifications and the command and control structure associated with crime scene activities.

Course Objectives

The goal of this course is to provide participants with knowledge necessary to identify and report preattack indicators, and to participate in an integrated response to a suicide bombing using safe and effective techniques, tactics, and procedures.

Target Audience

First Responders who are involved in the Transportation field including personnel from transportation, fire service, emergency management, emergency medical services, law enforcement, HazMat, public works, disaster response, emergency communications, public health, armed forces/national guard, elected/appointed officials, transportation, public safety communication, health care, and governmental administrative.
