Course Title

Prevention of and Response to Suicide Bombing Incidents (PRSBI)

Description

This Awareness-level course provides training on the suicide bombing threat. The course includes familiarization with improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and explosive materials typically used in suicide bombings. It also addresses actions that individual emergency responders can take to assist in preventing or deterring suicide bombings, as well as techniques, tactics, and procedures that support an effective and safe response to a suicide bombing.

Course Objectives

The goal of this course is to provide participants with knowledge necessary to identify and report preattack indicators, and to participate in an integrated response to a suicide bombing using safe and effective techniques, tactics, and procedures.

Prerequisites

Course participants must be certified in their agencies as firefighters, law enforcement officers, or emergency medical response personnel, or be assigned to a position in another agency that provides initial response to suicide bombing incidents.

Student Expectations

To receive certification, students are expected to be in attendance during the entire length of the course and successfully complete all aspects of testing.
