Featured Programs
The Idaho Academy of Science is proud to offer a variety of programs for the benefit of students and those involved in the science field. We offer the following:
- Annual Meeting and Symposium: A multi-day Symposium hosted each spring by one of the Academy's participating institutions. Outstanding speakers address issues of current interest, and researchers and students present papers on a wide variety of sciences and technologies. Field trips, exhibits, and spontaneous discussions at social functions are part of the broad spectrum of Symposium activities.
- Distinguished Scientist / Science Communicator Award: Awards presented annually to one or two Idaho scientists for outstanding accomplishments in scientific research and/or communication.
- Scholarship Program: Financial awards usually to at least one student per year at each of Idaho's nine colleges and universities. The recipients must be Idaho residents who are preparing for careers in science or science education.
- Visiting Scientist Program: A speakers bureau with professional scientists and science educators who present programs for schools and other organizations.
- "Event Clearinghouse": A calendar of future conferences, presentations, and other events of technical or educational interest to Idaho's Science and Engineering Communities."
