Position:  Residence Director, University Housing

Idaho State University has an anticipated opening for a Residence Director in University Housing. This is full-time; Non-Classified; 12 month appointment; live-in position.

Embark on an exciting career in Residence Life and Housing in an outdoor paradise. Idaho State University sits within easy driving distance of Yellowstone National Park, Sun Valley, Salt Lake City, and some of the best hiking, camping, whitewater rafting, and winter skiing in the West. ISU is seeking a Residence Director to manage a student residence complex.  Responsibilities include creating and maintaining a supportive environment for student development, supervising a student staff, and contributing to the mission of ISU Housing, and ensuring security and proper maintenance of a residence complex. This is a live-in position with housing provided by ISU.

Responsibilities

The Residence Director assists in the development and implementation of quality residence life program.  Assist in selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of undergraduate student staff.  Manage residence hall facilities, supervise staff, mentor and advise students, and work collaboratively with others to create an engaging, positive, safe, secure, and clean environment that supports and encourages the personal and academic success of students. Serve as a liaison between hall residents and the housing office. Work closely with the housing office, university departments, student organizations, diversity programs, campus activities, and student services to enhance the on-campus experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus one year of related university housing experience is required. Master's degree in College Personnel and live-in housing experience is preferred. A good sense of humor, positive outlook, excellent communication skills with the ability to work well with students, parents, faculty and staff, strong organizational skills, and demonstrated mentoring and training experience are required for this position.  Position is live-in with a furnished apartment and meal plan provided.
