Position: Grant Project Coordinator
Institute of Rural Health; Non-Classified; Full-time; 12-month appointment located in MERIDIAN, Idaho. Future employment is contingent on continued grant funding. Rank of Grant Project Coordinator (GPC) or Senior Grant Project Coordinator is determined by education and qualifications.
The Institute of Rural Health (IRH)
The Idaho State University Institute of Rural Health (IRH) is a nationally recognized research institute that maintains research relationships with major research and policy units across the U.S. IRH personnel work in teams that include faculty, professional research staff, research support staff, and graduate and undergraduate student employees. There are two offices, one on the ISU campus in Pocatello and a second office at the ISU-Meridian Health Science Center.
Responsibilities
Coordinate a complex grant-funded project dealing with scientific and healthcare issues, including project management, research, presentations, and technical scientific writing. As a key member of the project team, provide day-to-day management, administration, and coordination functions. The GPC will work closely with project team members under the direction of the Principal Investigator to coordinate activities and tasks to meet stringent timelines for project goals. The GPC will also write periodic grant reports to the funding agency, for approval by the Principal Investigator, and serve as the liaison with a variety of organizations and groups. The GPC may conduct trainings with adult audiences.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field such as health professions, business, accounting, or marketing. Candidates must have strong organizational, communication, and writing skills, and the ability to work collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in an appropriate field, experience in project management or other professional experience, detail-oriented, experience with web page design, experience in adult education including videoconferencing.
An understanding of suicide risk and protective factors, experience working with Idaho suicide prevention advocates, experience working with cultural/racial groups including Hispanics, Tribal members and Asian/Pacific Islanders, experience providing children’s mental health and/or suicide prevention programs such as classes, preparation of materials, etc., experience with social marketing.
