Position: Alumni Relations Director

University Advancement; Non-Classified; Full-time; 12-month appointment.

Responsibilities

As a key member of the Institutional Advancement team, the Alumni Relations Director is responsible for leading and directing all alumni relations activities statewide, regionally and nationally. The incumbent will aggressively institute, market, and execute new programs, events, and outreach efforts to bring new populations of alumni and friends closer to the University.

Will be accountable for advancing ISU's outreach efforts through designing metrics and benchmarking goals against which a successful alumni program will be measured.

Develop, implement, and manage the alumni relations program to establish a long-term productive continuum of alumni engagement, commitment and volunteerism. Identify, recruit and establish a successful network of volunteer leaders.

Continue to build a powerful alumni online community through social networking. Assist in developing a strategy for alumni communications for the web.

Actively lead the University’s campaign for a new alumni and visitors center. Manage a prospect/donor portfolio in the cultivation and solicitation of philanthropic gifts for this project.

Establish programs of mutual commitment with students, from entering freshmen to graduates; expand reconnections with alumni and friends and develop new relationships with a focus on friend raising, service to the University, volunteerism and philanthropic support.

The Idaho State University Alumni Association consists of 24 members of the Alumni Board of Directors representing various regions, colleges, departments and eras. The department is active in sponsoring and promoting and number of events, awards programs, gatherings and serving some 65,000 living alumni.

Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrated leadership, management, marketing and public relations skills and experience; bachelor’s degree and significant fundraising experience; must possess a high level of enthusiasm and creativity; ability to work with deans, department chairs, faculty and administrators in the identification, cultivation, and relationship-building with alumni, friends, and current students. Experience in volunteer management and coordination strongly preferred; must be able to travel, work evenings and weekends.
