Position: Clinical Assistant Professor
Department of Family Medicine/Kasiska College of Health Professions; Full-time; Non-Tenure track; 12 month appointment.
Responsibilities
Supervision and teaching of Family Medicine residents; significant patient care component over 50% of professional time including obstetrics and women's health. Will engage in faculty development activities and offerings particularly those made available through academic family medicine. Contribute to the clinical and educational research mission of the department.
Minimum Qualifications
- M.D., Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
- Two years of clinical experience in full spectrum family medicine.
- Two years experience in teaching family medicine residents, medical students and other health profession students.
- Two years experience working with physician assistants and nurse practitioners.
- Currently active in obstetrics and desires to continue to provide family medicine obstetrical care.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure to work as a physician in the State of Idaho.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with and desire to teach advanced procedures in Family Medicine including some or all of: osteoporosis management and Dexa scanning, abnormal pap smear management with colposcopy, biopsy and LEEP, basic obstetrical ultrasound, minor office surgical procedures, advanced contraceptive technology including Implanon insertion and IUD placement and removal, cast and splint placement and removal, use of training simulators.
Experienced and familiar with electronic health records, preferably GE Centricity and Logician including HIPPA complaint electronic patient communication, electronic prescribing, patient portals, EMR access to database reference for evidenced based medical care and patient education resources and electronic patient referrals to consultant physicians.
Privileged or eligible for privileging at Portneuf Medical Center for full spectrum family medicine including obstetrics.
Certified Provider (or willing to re-certify) in Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO).
Certified Provider (or willing to re-certify) in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Certified Provider (or willing to re-certify) in Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS).
