Position: Respiratory Therapy Director of Clinical Education
College of Technology; 11-month appointment starting immediately. Position is located in Pocatello, Idaho with some travel required.
Responsibilities
To provide clinical education/coordination and preceptor duties in the Associate of Science Degree-Respiratory Therapy Program. The Director of Clinical Education is responsible for planning, organizing, monitoring, and the general effectiveness of clinical experiences for students enrolled in the respiratory therapy program. This position will be responsible for coordinating clinical experiences and preceptorships; position may instruct laboratory and lecture in the Respiratory Therapy Program; direct supervision of the clinical educational experiences of the respiratory therapy students; safe patient management; professional behavior and sound judgment; presentation of instruction using multiple teaching methodologies; and evaluation of students in classroom, lab and clinical settings. The specific responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: responsibility for clinical rotations to meet the overall course objectives and program goals; overseeing the preparation assignment, and supervision of students while on clinical rotations; evaluating student progress using multiple teaching methodologies, and maintaining accurate student records; supporting student success through counseling, advising, and assisting individual students; maintaining positive communication with and coordinating with affiliating health care agencies; assists in program promotion and recruitment; may instruct courses including lecture, laboratory.
Minimum Qualifications
- The Director of Clinical Education must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and hold, or be eligible for, an Idaho State license as a Respiratory Therapist.
- The Director of Clinical Education must possess at least a baccalaureate degree.
- The Director of Clinical Education should have a minimum of four (4) years experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, of which at least two (2) years should have been spent in clinical respiratory care and at least two (2) years in a teaching position in an accredited respiratory care program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Health or related field.
