Position: Faculty, Energy Systems Technology and Education Center (Revised 10/21/08)
College of Technology; 3 Full-time; 10-month appointment; non-tenure.

Responsibilities
The faculty will 1) develop and teach undergraduate courses (lecture and laboratory), 2) advise and recruit students, 3) develop and serve as an advisor to student professional organizations, 4) pursue scholarly, grant, private funding, and applied research activities, 5) assist with program fund-raising, off-campus/online courses, workshops and seminars, and 6) support the development and execution of applied industrial research activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Three to eight years of full-time, successful, relevant industrial/military experience working in electrical power generation or a related field. Certifiable as professional-technical instructor by the state of Idaho upon hire.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology or a related discipline preferred. Experience may substitute for educational requirements
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Competence in a teaching applications of theoretical concepts
- Ability to develop laboratory demonstrations and teaching aids
- Instructional development and delivery skills
- Ability to further develop professionally
- Project and budget management skills desired
The overall competence will be evaluated by the following: experience, education, diversity of background, ability to communicate, enthusiasm for developing more effective programs/curricula, level of scholarship, participation in professional societies, registrations/licenses, scholarly activities.
