Position: Computer Analyst
The Information Technology Services department at Idaho State University is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, 12 month, non-classified position as a Computer Analyst. The university is beginning the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning system. The person in this position will join the Enterprise Applications group, with primary duties related to the support of the student information system. The anticipated start date will be as soon as a qualified applicant is selected.
Responsibilities
Provide support to departmental personnel of specific modules in the Banner enterprise resource planning system (65%). This support may include:
- Assistance in establishing and maintaining rules and validation tables.
- Data conversion from the legacy system
- Creation and execution of batch jobs
- Creation and maintenance of reports
- Creation and maintenance of electronic workflow programs
Participate in the design and development of auxiliary system to the Banner enterprise resource planning system (25%). This support may include:
- Work closely with departmental personnel to identify evolving administrative data needs, then propose and outline solutions
- Use structured analysis techniques to provide descriptions and communicate potential solutions and specifications to functional users and programmers
- Design, analyze, code, document, and implement auxiliary applications
- Ensure that programs and procedures are thoroughly tested and documented before implementation
Maintain support skills for tools clients use at their workstations to complete their administrative computing tasks. (10%)
Other systems analysis, development, and support tasks as assigned by the Manager for Enterprise Applications. (10%)
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
- One year full-time paid professional work experience in computer programming or IT systems support and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise applications in a university environment
- Professional experience working an long-term development projects
- Experience working in a team environment
