Professional Development/First Time Leadership Workshops
First Time Leadership is a new certificate program for ISU employees. The same courses are offered for First Time Leadership Certificate program and as Professional Development workshops. The First Time Leadership program requires attending a specific number of sessions to earn the certificate. All faculty and staff are invited to participate in either the program or individual sessions. If you are interested in attending please contact Connie or Stacey.

Diversity Training
Diversity Training is mandatory for all classified and non-classified employees, and highly suggested for faculty. This is a brand new workshop conducted by the Office of Human Resources and Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity and Diversity office. See above schedule for dates and times. Customer Service Training
Customer Service training is also mandatory for all classified and non-classified employees, and highly suggested for faculty. This is a brand new Customer Service Training workshop. We have retired the Fish training, but will offer it to all new employees at New Employee Orientation. Customer Service training is required for all classified and non-classified employees, and highly suggested for faculty. Even if you have attended Customer Service training in the past, you will be required to attend this new training sometime throughout the school year, August-May. Sexual Harassment and a Respectful Workplace Training
Sexual Harassment and a Respectful Workplace Training is mandatory on a yearly basis for Classified and Non-Classified Employees, and highly suggested for faculty. Every other year it must be completed in person at a Sexual Harassment and a Respectful Workplace workshop. On opposite years it may be taken online. See above schedule for dates and times. Leadership Development Program
Idaho State University's Office of Human Resources has openings for the Spring 2013 session of ISU's Leadership Development Program! This program is designed to provide professional development to emerging and experienced leaders at Idaho State University by providing the tools, knowledge, and skills critical to becoming a strategic leader, and assisting leaders in the effective application and use of policies, procedures, resources and services. Participants will build collaborative networks to share ideas, problem-solve, build relationships and offer support for one another. They will build competencies to provide and receive constructive feedback while cultivating an understanding of the nature of organizational change. The new session will begin on January 10. Click schedule to see the upcoming dates/times for the Spring 2013 dates. All sessions will be in the PSUB Little/Wood River rooms. Each participant must take all 15 modules, and upon completion of the program, will receive a certificate of completion and participate in a graduation ceremony. This program is designed to be completed in 1 to 2 semesters, with 2 modules available to be made up online. Participants who don't graduate in May will be able to graduate in December.
Each Vice President will appoint a proportional number of persons from their department. Please contact your respective Vice President's office if you are interested. This program is currently registering participants. Contact your respective Vice President to submit your name for possible openings for the Spring 2013 session. There will be no sessions offered via distance learning this year. We anticipate offering this in the fall for Meridian and Twin Falls.
First Time Leadership Program
First Time Leadership is a new certificate program for ISU employees who are new or current supervisors. Administrative Assistants, Lead positions, and those who supervise work study students are good candidates for this program. There are 7 required courses with 11 electives, of which 8 must be taken to earn the certificate. This program can be started at any time. Hazardous Materials Training
This training covers proper handling and disposal of batteries and lightbulbs as well as other hazardous materials. The video takes approximately 10 minutes to view. For directions on accessing this training click here.
New Employee Orientation
All new employees are invited to attend New Employee Orientation. Invites will be delivered to each new employee. This is a great opportunity to get to know more about Idaho State University. Come learn about the history of ISU, meet your Human Resource representatives, get important information from EEO/Affirmative Action & Diversity, Public Safety, Gender Resource Center, Information Technology, Library, Finance & Adminstration, Purchasing, Campus Recreation, Veterans Center, Facilities Services, take a bus tour around campus, and have lunch on us! The dates for New Employee Orientation are:

State of Idaho Training
State employee training is provided across the state under the direction of the Division of Professional-Technical Education and through Idaho's technical colleges. The technical colleges are BSU (Boise), CSI (Twin Falls), CWI (Nampa), EITC (Idaho Falls), ISU (Pocatello), LCSC (Lewiston), and NIC (Coeur d’Alene).
