Benefits: Insurance: Enrollment
When you start work as a benefit eligible employee, you will need to complete the appropriate new hire packet in Human Resources. After your initial enrollment orientation, election changes can be made with paper applications in Human Resources or by printing the appropriate forms and then submitting them to HR.
Here is a quick look at enrollment rules for the various Group Insurance plans and when coverage may begin:

If you enroll... Benefit eligible employees will have coverage effective the first day of the month following date of hire provided enrollment is completed within thirty days of an employee's date of hire. Employees who do not enroll during their initial 30 day eligibility period will have coverage effective on the first day of the month following date of application. |

Benefit eligible employees will have coverage effective the first day of the month following their start date. Beyond new hire enrollment, employee must show proof of good health, and coverage will be subject to approval by Principal Life Insurance Co. |

Flexible Spending Accounts (changes to Flex Accounts can only be made during open enrollment) |

New Hires can be enroll the 1st day of the month following their date of hire, provided an application is submitted within 30 days of hire. All other employees must enroll in the FSA Plan every year during the open enrollment period. |
