Hi! My name is Dr. Katie Kostohryz and I joined the ISU Department of Counseling in the fall of 2011. I received my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Ohio University in my hometown of Athens, Ohio. Go Bobcats! I received my M.A. from the University of Northern Colorado and my B.A. from Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey. I held an adjunct position with Kent State University before relocating to become a Bengal.
My clinical experience includes counseling children and families at St. Vincent Family Centers in Columbus, Ohio; Access Counseling in Boulder, Colorado; and Larimer Center for Mental Health in Fort Collins, Colorado. My scholarly and research interests include children and family counseling, play therapy, counselor education and supervision, the comprehensive examination in doctoral programs, terminally ill, grief and loss, and re-entry for study abroad and international students.
