Applying for On-Campus Housing
How to Apply for the Residence Halls:
This is the timeline we will use for assigning rooms in the halls:
-Until March 5, 2012 current hall residents get first priority to reserve their current room. Current residents DO NOT need to pay another deposit.
-From March 6 through April 2, 2012 current residents can request to have a different hall/room for the 2012/13 academic year.
-Beginning April 3, 2012 incoming/new students will be assigned to halls.
New Students: 
To apply for the Residence Halls, you may go directly to the
online application. Your application process will not be completed until you have paid the $150 deposit.
Returning Students: If you already live on campus you DO NOT need to pay another deposit, even though the application says to pay. Please click here to complete your application.
To change an existing application: If you have already applied and just need to change something on your application please email University Housing and we will be happy to make the change for you.
How to Apply for On-Campus Apartments:
New Applicants: To apply for an On-Campus 
Apartment, please complete the online application. You will be placed on a waiting list for your requested apartment(s). As soon as one of your requested apartments becomes available we will send an email offering you the apartment. You will not need to pay the deposit until you have accepted an apartment.
Transfer Requests: If you are currently an ISU Student living on campus please use this Transfer Request Form to request a different building or complex on campus.
To change an existing application: If you have already applied and just need to change something on your application please email University Housing and we will be happy to make the change for you.
How the application process works:
- It is impossible to know exactly how long a waiting list might be, and wait times vary from one complex to another and at different times of the year. Assignments are made by date of application, so the sooner you submit your housing application the better your chances are of receiving an assignment in the complex of your choice.
- A $150.00 deposit is required to complete the application process for the residence halls. The deposit refund policy is explained in detail in the license agreement. If you have already applied for the residence halls but did not pay the deposit, you can pay your deposit here electronically.
- Apartment offers are made year round, based on location on the waiting list and desired date of occupancy.
- In late Spring, Residence Hall assignments for the Fall semester are made as students apply.
In mid Summer, Residence Hall residents receive an email with their hall assignment, their roommate's name, residence mailing address, and residence phone number.
In mid-late Summer, Residence Hall residents receive a welcome message, which contains check-in information, bed sizes, opening dates, and more. - The residence halls close at the end of each academic year. On-campus apartments do not close at any time. Students who live in apartments are required to give 30 days notice before vacating their housing.
- Cancellations: If you need to cancel your housing in the residence halls you may do so by emailing University Housing. Please be aware that the date you cancel will determine how much, if any, of your deposit will be refunded to you. Refund policy is as follows:
- If you cancel before May 22, 2011 your entire deposit will be refunded.
- If you cancel anytime from May 22-July 4, 2011 half of your deposit will be refunded.
- If you cancel after July 4, 2011 none of your deposit will be refunded.
