IDAHO STUDENT OF ADDICTION STUDIES (ISAS)

The Idaho Student of Addiction Studies Certification is granted for Entry-Level chemical dependency counseling within the State of Idaho. It signifies that they have a certain amount of alcohol and drug education and are in training. The Idaho Board of Alcohol and Drug Certification (IBADCC), a member of the International Certification Reciprocity Consortium, developed this certification to give trainees some recognition while they are working towards their CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor).

Eligibilitv Criteria

College or University transcript showing a passing grade in the following courses:

HE 230:  Introduction to Addictions -3 credits     (45 hours)
HE 235:  Chemical Dependency and the Family -3 credits     (45 hours)
HE 232:  Helping Theories (Counseling Techniques 1) -3 credits     (45 hours)
HE 233:  Harmful and Illicit Substances (Pharmacology) -3 credits     (45 hours)
HE 310:  Screening and Assessment of Substance Abuse -3 credits     (45 hours )
HE 311:  Case Management of Substance Abuse -3 credits     (45 hours)
HE 312:  Ethics for Addiction Counselors -3 credits     (30 hours)
HE 234:  Blood Born Illness -1 credit       (15 hours )
HE 313:  Practicum for Substance Abuse Counselors
