RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

1995 - 1998

Project Director: School District #25 Prevention Project (funded): Directed teams of researchers concerning the success of several prevention projects being implemented in the school districts. Methodology included surveys, focus groups, and participant observation.


Dec. 1996-August 1997

Project Director: Community Survey for the Transportation of Transuranic Waste. Statewide study of public perceptions
concerning the movement of transuranic waste on Idaho's highways to Carlsbad, New Mexico.


February/March 1996

Community Perceptions of C-Rural and The Southeast Idaho Policy Alternatives Project. Conducted telephone interviews and provided a technical report on community perceptions of SEIPAP and C-Rural,
and the success of their program.
Year 1995

Consultant (Contract with Road to Recovery) funded: Helped develop questionnaire for survey research on a new women's treatment and recovery program for chemical dependency.

Trainer, Facilitator, Focus Groups (Contract with the Institute of Environmental Health and Safety): Study on the perceptions and opinions of people concerning the waste clean-up at I.N.E.L.

counselors including: Drugs and Society, The Family and Chemical Dependency, Counseling Techniques, Pharmacology of Drugs, Screening and Assessment, Case Management, Ethics for C.D. Counselors, and Blood Born Pathogens.

Presenter: Helped do a workshop on "Confidentiality" at The Annual
Prevention Conference in Sun Valley, Idaho.


Fall 1997

Presenter: Presented a workshop on Anger Management for teachers at the Annual Teachers Conference through Continuing Education at Idaho State University.

Served on a State Task Force for Prevention of Perinatal Substance Abuse.

Member of The Regional Authority on Substance Abuse through Health and Welfare. This is a community committee for the prevention of substance abuse and violence.

M.K. Place: Clinical Supervisor for a Residential and Outpatient Treatment Center for adolescents struggling with substance abuse issues.

School District #25: Worked as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor doing assessments, groups, and meeting individually with students of all ages struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues.


1995 to 1997

P.R.M.C. Hospital: Lite N' Up Program. Worked as part of a team for a program designed to promote weight loss and a healthy lifestyle. Team included a nutritionist, exercise physiologist, and behaviorist.

solving group for teenagers dealing with addiction and mental health issues.
