Idaho Diabetes Prevention and Control Program
Five programs in the Division of Health Sciences are currently partnering with the Southeast District Health Department to provide assessment and treatment to persons with diabetes in southeast Idaho. ISU faculty and students have collaborated with the health department on this program for the past year and the various disciplines involved continue to expand. Currently Nursing, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, Dietetics and Health Education faculty and students are working on this project, which includes 10 events this fall. One of our goals within the DHS is to expand opportunities for our students to become involved in interdisciplinary health care. This program is a good example of interdisciplinary collaboration in action.
