Program Description
Name of program: Health Education
Program Overview: The undergraduate health education program is designed to prepare students to teach preventive health strategies. More specifically, they learn to facilitate the voluntary adoption of actions which are conducive to the health of individuals, groups, or communities. To earn a degree, each student must complete the health education core requirements, and then select additional coursework and field experience in one of two emphases: school health, community/worksite health. Students interested in a minor in health education may select from either teaching or non-teaching minor. The Master of Health Education (MHE) graduate program offers a 33-credit curriculum that prepares graduates to enter the workforce as health educators in places such as schools, businesses, health care settings, and in community organizations and government agencies.
