Name of program: Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Counseling
Program Overview: The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Counselor Education and Counseling prepares graduates to serve as: faculty members in counselor education programs, doctoral level counselors, counselor supervisors in various settings, leaders in higher education and counseling organizations, and scholars. A minimum of three years of full-time study is required for this program. Doctoral students contribute in all aspects of the Master of Counseling program. Responsibilities include teaching, supervising, mentoring, and assessing master's students.

The Department of Counseling was one of the first programs in the nation to be fully accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
