Idaho State University Stephens Performing Arts Center ranks No. 4 on ‘25 Most Amazing University Performing Arts Centers’ list

The Idaho State University L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center has been ranked No. 4 on a list of “The 25 Most Amazing University Performing Arts Centers” by the national website bestvalueschools.com.

The Stephens Center is referred to as “the crown jewel of Pocatello.” It also states that the center “provides students with the opportunity to experience professional-level performing arts education.” The article is accessible at http://idahostateu.com/stephenscenterranked.

These top 25 performing arts centers “were chosen for their enduring commitment to arts education as well as their desire to provide exceptional arts programming to the public at the highest levels.”

The $34 million Stephens Center’s main venues are the Joseph C. and Cheryl Jensen Grand Concert Hall, the Barbara J. Marshall Rotunda, the Beverly B. Bistline Theatre, and the Rogers Black Box Theatre. It also features a costume design studio and set design shop, as well as classrooms and meeting spaces.

Built primarily with the generous support of Thelma Stephens and hundreds of private donors, the 123,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art complex debuted in October 2004.
