The Idaho State University School of Performing Arts Theatre will present “The Gondoliers” in the Bilyeu Theater in Frazier Hall on Feb. 21, 22, 24, 28 and March 1 at 7:30 p.m., with music by Arthur Sullivan and libretto by W.S. Gilbert.
Who is the King of Barataria? A young bride, destined to marry the heir of Barataria, arrives in Venice to join her future husband. However, he cannot be identified because he was entrusted to a drunken gondolier who mixed the prince up with his own son. When the King of Barataria dies, the two young gondoliers must jointly rule the kingdom until the nurse of the prince can be brought in to determine the rightful king.
