A free community dance class with Seattle choreographer and dancer Amy O’Neal will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon April 21 in the Idaho State University Red Hill Dance Studio.
O’Neal and the Idaho Moving Project (I-Move) will also give a free performance later that day at 4:30 p.m. in the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center’s James E. and Beverly Rogers Black Box Theatre.
O’Neal’s activities on April 12 are part of ISU’s Dance Day. All high school students are invited to take free workshops that afternoon in ballet, modern dance, jazz and pilates taught by ISU dance students and faculty.
O’Neal will also be a guest artist the previous week in the I-Move dance classes. Her visit is made possible through the Connie Smith Bowen Rural Arts Series. She has worked with such famous people as Sonia Dawkins, Savion Glover, Pat Graney and Mark Haim.
