Idaho State University Physics to offer Water Rocket Festival June 28-29

ISU Infant Vocal Development Lab hopes to find earlier intervention of language disorders; volunteers needed

“Bah-bah-bah.” “Ah.” “Eww.” “Gaa.”

The sounds infants make and caregivers’ report of their interactions with babies are the focus of the new Idaho State University Infant Vocal Development Laboratory, where researchers will be studying the sounds made by infants from 7 to 18 months of age, and the infants’ interactions with caregivers.

The focus of the new lab is to lay the groundwork for deeper understanding of speech and language development, and perhaps make possible the early detection and treatment of disorders. (more…)

Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics honors ISU-Meridian’s Ruth Schneider

Idaho State University’s Ph.D. in English, Teaching of English featured in MLA report

Idaho State University’s doctoral degree in English and the Teaching of English was featured as an innovative doctoral program in a report released in May by the Modern Language Association.

The Report of the MLA Task Force on Doctoral Study in Modern Language and Literature pointed to ISU’s program as one of four in the United States that have anticipated changes needed in the field. (more…)

Four Idaho State University faculty, Bajracharya, Blanton, Cole and Schou, receive Fulbright Awards; will head to Germany, Canada, Nepal and New Zealand

Four Idaho State University faculty have been selected for Fulbright Scholar and Specialists awards this spring.

They are geomatics Professor Rajendra Bajracharya, dietetics Assistant Professor Cynthia Blanton, physics Professor Philip Cole and informatics Professor Corey Schou. They will be going to Nepal, Canada, Germany and New Zealand, respectively. (more…)
