A total of 2,283 graduates will receive 2,363 degrees and certificates during Idaho State University's spring commencement ceremonies, which will begin at 10 a.m. May 5 in Holt Arena.
Seventy-five students will receive multiple certificates and/or degrees.
In addition to the presentation of these degrees and certificates, three distinguished faculty members will be acknowledged, 10 alumni will be recognized for their professional achievement, and 13 outstanding students will be recognized. (more…)
Since 2002, Idaho State University's Bengal Dancers have been placing in the top 10 in national competitions. This season, coach Kolissa Manchan's second year with the team, the dancers earned high marks at two national competitions this spring. (more…)

Melanie Person has always been fascinated with psychology. When she graduated from high school in 1995, a teacher wrote in her yearbook, "I look forward to discussing psychoanalysis with you in the future, Dr. Person."
Well, she's ready for that discussion. Person is receiving her doctorate in counselor education and counseling Monday, May 7 during Idaho State University-Meridian’s commencement ceremony. It starts at 6 p.m. at the Boise Centre, 850 W. Front Street. ISU-Meridian will confer 195 degrees—the majority in the health professions and health sciences. (more…)
Idaho State University students organize three-band performance for Idaho Falls The Haven Shelter fundraiser
Three Idaho State University students, Chelsey Gasser, Ben Howard and Colette Redden, from the Idaho Falls campus have planned a charity concert for The Haven Shelter on Friday, May 4, at the Red Lion Hotel located at 475 River Parkway in Idaho Falls.
Doors will open at 7 p.m. and entertainment will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $5. (more…)

Idaho State University’s Shropshire, DeVeaux receive National Science Foundation Award of $247,000 for undergraduate research
The National Science Foundation has awarded Idaho State University physics Professor and Principal Investigator Steve Shropshire $247,732 through the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program to support undergraduate research.
Eight undergraduate students from across the United States will be selected from 113 applications to participate each year for three years in a 10-week nuclear physics, radiobiology, and nuclear engineering research and education experience at ISU. This year, one of the eight students selected is from ISU. (more…)
Ten Idaho State University alumni will be honored with ISU Professional Achievement Awards at ISU Commencement exercises on Saturday, May 5, in Holt Arena.
Professional Achievement Award recipients are alumni who have made important contributions to their careers or profession, to the social, political or economic well-being of the world around them and have shown continued community and civic involvement in addition to their association with and contributions to Idaho State University. Individuals selected for these prestigious awards have been out of school at least 10 years and have excelled in their chosen field attaining significant success and accomplishments.
