Annual Snow Expo/Pocatello Ski Swap set Oct. 28-30 at Idaho State University

The annual Pocatello Ski Swap/Snow Expo will be held Oct. 28-30 at Idaho State University in the Pond Student Union Ballroom.

This event is sponsored by the ISU Cooperative Wilderness Handicapped Outdoor Group (CW HOG), Pocatello Ski Association, Pebble Creek Junior Race Team and the Pebble Creek Ski Patrol. (more…)

Idaho State University breaks ground on new Veterans’ Memorial at Cadet Field

Idaho State University will break ground on a new veterans' memorial Monday, Oct. 24, at Cadet Field.

The memorial, which has been in the planning process for two years, is moving forward thanks to Premier Technology of Blackfoot. Premier has agreed to donate concrete and engineering expertise for the project. The Armed Forces Veterans' Club-Pocatello will provide the labor during the construction of the memorial. (more…)

Idaho State University Disability Services to host second annual Experience College Day on Oct. 28

Idaho State University Disability Services will host the second annual Experience College Day from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 28 in the Salmon River Suite in the Pond Student Union.

This event exposes high school students with all forms of disabilities to college admissions and success in higher education. (more…)

Spooky science fun – Idaho State University haunted lab open to public Oct. 29

Treat your tricksters to a field trip to the Idaho State University Haunted Science Laboratory from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, in the Ballard Building on 1999 Alvin Ricken Drive in Pocatello.

There will be spooky science exhibits on light, reflection, refraction, illusions, electricity, lasers, holograms, phosphorescence and much more. The ISU Society of Physics Students, the Kiwanis Club, the ISU Health Physics Club, and the ISU Department of Physics are sponsoring the lab. (more…)

Idaho State University continues ‘Be Advised’ campaign to benefit students

Idaho State University is continuing its "Be Advised" campaign to encourage students to reap the benefits of good advising prior to registering for spring classes in November.

"Students should meet with their advisor prior to each registration period to understand program requirements, check their progress towards graduation, learn of updates or changes to department or university requirements, and determine the best course of action for their situation," said JoAnn Hertz, director of ISU Central Academic Advising. ISU Anderson Center to host film screening of ‘The Education of Shelby Knox’ on Nov. 3

The Anderson Gender Resource Center at Idaho State University, through a grant from the Department of Health and Welfare, is inviting the public to a free film screening, followed by a panel discussion on the topic of sex education in high schools.

The screening and discussion will be held Thursday, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m. in the Rendezvous Suites A,B,C on the ISU campus. The event is free and open to all. (more…)
