·      Concert on the Quad: Blind Autumn will perform at 6 p.m. on the ISU Hutchinson Quadrangle followed by Cary Judd at 7 p.m. There will also be a BBQ that is free for ISU students and $3 for the general public. Everyone is encouraged to bring canned or non-perishable items to the concert and exchange them for promotional gear. Masters of Public Administration honor society established at Idaho State University

Idaho State University's Masters of Public Administration program has established a Pi Alpha Alpha MPA Honors Society, which was formally chartered by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration this spring.

Pi Alpha Alpha is the national honor society in public affairs, public policy and public administration of the NASPAA. Established nationally in 1974, the honors society actively encourages and rewards excellence in scholarship among students and practitioners of public administration and public policy. (more…)

ISU aircraft maintenance instructor Prickett retires after 18 years

Frank Prickett is retiring from Idaho State University after 18 years of serving as an instructor in the Aircraft Maintenance Technology program.

Prickett graduated from Eastern New Mexico University, Roswell Campus in 1975 with a FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings. Following graduation he obtained employment with fixed base operators in Roswell and Albuquerque, N.M.  He also worked for the AvCenter in Pocatello and for Horizon Airlines in Salt Lake City and Boise. Idaho State University sociology Professor Aho pens ninth book ‘Sociological Trespasses: Interrogating Sin and Flesh’

In his ninth book "Sociological Trespasses: Interrogating Sin and Flesh," which has been released this month, Idaho State University emeritus sociology Professor James Aho explores how people use idols or fetishes to deal with their emptiness.

"Essentially, the whole argument of the book is that we attach ourselves to idols to deal with our existential void, tenuousness, or, if you wish, our own dying," Aho said. (more…)

Idaho State University College of Education ICEE is providing training to 486 K-12 educators this week

The Idaho State University College of Education and Dell, Inc., are again teaming up to provide east Idaho K-12 teachers and administrators with a proven, comprehensive teacher-training model that improves student achievement.

Nearly 500 K-12 teachers and administrators throughout east Idaho are attending a Total Instructional Alignment Conference running through June 10 at Idaho State University in the Pond Student Union.  Dell will provide computer technology and support for the conference. (more…)
