Sen. Mike Crapo has been selected as 2009 Statesman of the Year by the Pi Sigma Alpha, the political science honor society at Idaho State University, and he will be honored at a dinner on Saturday, April 18, at the ISU Stephens Performing Arts Center.
This honor is bestowed upon Idahoans for their distinguish contributions to the state and nation. Sen. Crapo is the 30th recipient of this prestigious honor, which has been awarded to some of Idaho's most distinguished citizens and leaders. (more…)

The Science Fiction Research Association has announced that the winner of its 2009 Pilgrim Award is Brian Attebery, professor of English at Idaho State University.
The Pilgrim Award is a lifetime award, given annually to an individual whose body of work contributes significantly to the study of science fiction and fantasy. Previous winners include writer-critics such as Ursula K. Le Guin, Brian Aldiss and Samuel R. Delany as well as scholars from around the world, including film critic Vivian Sobchack and postmodern theorist Fredric Jameson. (more…)

The 2009 ISU Annual Undergraduate Art Exhibition and Scholarship Competition at the John B. Davis Gallery will open from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 6. An awards ceremony will be held at 7 p.m.
