Young musicians featured at Idaho State Civic Symphony concert on Nov. 14

The Idaho State Civic Symphony will feature the winners of the Symphony Association 2014 Young Artists Competition on Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Stephens Performing Arts Center.

Pianist Adam Merrill and violinist Yonsoo Park were the competition division winners for Idaho musicians. (more…)

Idaho State University-Meridian’s Samantha Lange displays talents on national stage and in classroom

Samantha Lange, 24, had a good reason to miss her department’s new student orientation at Idaho State University-Meridian in late August.

The first-year physician assistant studies student was in New York City, competing for $1 million and a Las Vegas show on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” (more…)

Metropolitan Opera Auditions will be held at ISU Stephens Center Nov. 1

The Metropolitan Opera Auditions will be held at Idaho State University on Nov. 1 at 10 a.m. in the Jensen Grand Concert Hall.

“This event is really exciting,” said Diana Livingston Friedley, audition director and music professor at ISU. “People can come see great young artists perform. It’s also a great way for our artists to jumpstart their careers.” (more…)

Idaho State University International Night 2014 set Nov. 1 in Pocatello

The Idaho State University International Student Association invites all of Pocatello and the surrounding communities to experience and celebrate the rich cultural diversity of ISU at International Night 2014 on Saturday, Nov. 1, in the Pond Student Union Ballroom.

Idaho State Civic Symphony to hold Halloween Spooktacular Family Matinee on Oct. 25

The Idaho State Civic Symphony’s annual Spooktacular Family Matinee will be held Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. in the Jensen Grand Concert Hall at the Stephens Performing Arts Center.

At 1 p.m. families can visit a musical “petting zoo” in the Rotunda, where they can see orchestral instruments and how they produce sound. Children can also try some of the instruments. There will also be singing games and other musical education activities. (more…)

Play ‘Luck and Conincidences’ written by ISU graduate student Kane to be performed Sept. 26-27 at SPAC

Idaho State University graduate student Gabrielle Joan Kane will perform her play “Luck and Coincidences” Sept. 26 and 27.
