Idaho State University College of Arts and Letters Gala raises more than $48,000 for student scholarships
The Idaho State University College of Arts and Letters raised more than $48,000 for student scholarships at the second annual New Year’s Eve Gala, and nearly doubled attendance from last year’s event.
The Gala was held at the Stephens Performing Arts Center and used most of the buildings unique space. Idaho State University students provided entertainment throughout the evening, and all $48,000 raised will be used for student scholarships in the fine arts and humanities. (more…)
The Idaho State University Nepalese Night will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, in the Pond Student Union Ballroom.
The ninth annual celebration aims to provide insight into Nepalese culture. Attendees can expect to see dance and musical performances as well as different traditions representing each region of the country and traditional food. (more…)
The Idaho State University Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) invites all students and member of the community to experience the traditional culture of China at the ISU Chinese New Year Night 2015 on Saturday, Feb. 14, in the Pond Student Union Ballroom.
The event will start at 6:30 p.m. and the evening will offer traditional Chinese food along with traditional and modern Chinese dances, including the lion dance and music performed by ISU students. (more…)

The 28th annual Idaho State University Jazz Festival will present public concerts on Feb. 6 and 7 featuring Grammy award-winning jazz tenor saxophonist Bob Mintzer and keyboardist Russell Ferrante.
A special performance by a quartet comprised of Mintzer, Ferrante and local musicians Aaron Miller and Shane Lindsay will be held on Friday, Feb. 6, from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Portneuf Valley Brewing. Organizers for the Idaho State University College of Arts and Letters Annual New Year’s Eve Gala hope to raise more than $30,000 for scholarships and create an endowment for student scholarships.
“We want to raise a greater amount of scholarship funds than we did last year so we will be able to again give directly to students to allow them to complete their education and launch their careers,” said Heidi Jarvis, Director of Advancement, College of Arts and Letters, and Strategic University Initiatives.
The second annual New Year’s Eve Gala will be held on Dec. 31 at 7 p.m. at the L.E. and Thelma E. Stephens Performing Arts Center. The theme for this year’s gala is “Masquerade Ball.” Scholarships are made possible from donors in the community, as well as ticket sales. (more…)
