State Programs
Overview
The State of Idaho appropriates approximately $2 million dollars annually to the Idaho State Board of Education (SBOE) with the intent of stimulating research and scholarly activity at Idaho's Universities. Five SBOE programs are available:
1. Infrastructure Funding
ISU receives approximately $150,000 from the SBOE annually to enhance its research infrastructure. Funds are distributed through the Research Office. All directors, deans, and department chairs have the opportunity each spring to request infrastructure support.
2. Matching Grants
SBOE matching grant funds are intended to fund major research projects or equipment.
- Deadline: Irregular, not currently offered.
- Funding: $50,000 and up. (SBOE provides 50%.)
3. Specific Research Grants
Faculty from any discipline may apply. Proposals are not being accepted for this program at this time.
- Deadline: Not funded at this time.
- Funding: up to $35,000.
4. Research Center Grants
Funds are to support research centers.
- Deadline: November 13, 2000
- Funding: $250,000 to $350,000/yr. for 3 years
5. Idaho Technology Incentive Grant Program
Funds are provided to promote creation and use of alternative methods of instruction through the use of technology
