Idaho State University's Graduate School welcomes you to the ISU community! Graduate Student Orientation information will be available at this site as it becomes available. Even if you have attended ISU as an undergraduate, this orientation will be helpful as you begin your graduate degree program. This site will help you identify and take advantage of academic resources and tools to assist you as you progress toward your degree, as well as give you suggestions on how to avoid some common pitfalls. Orientation is a required first step in your graduate degree journey!

Things I need to do before I start classes...
Get my Student ID -www.isu.edu/pubsafe/
BengalCard is your ISU identification card and is required to obtain financial aid disbursements, access student services and enjoy student activities. Each semester the cards will be activated as fees are paid. Your BengalCard can be obtained beginning the three-week days prior to classes starting each semester. You can go to the Public Safety office (5th and Humbolt, Building #27) or the Bennion Student Union in Idaho Falls.
Buy a Parking Pass -www.isu.edu/pubsafe/
You can purchase a general parking pass in the Public Safety Office (5th and Humbolt, Building #27) in Pocatello or the Information Desk in the Bennion Student Union in Idaho Falls. A parking pass is required to park on campus between 7:30 a.m. -4 p.m. Idaho Falls parking pass is required from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Student Health Insurance
Student Health Insurance will automatically be charged to you if you are taking eight or more credits. You can view the coverage information at www.isu.edu/stuhlth/insurance/gen.shtml or call 282-2972 with questions.
Waived: You can request the student health insurance to be waived by showing proof of current insurance coverage and filling out the waiver form at http://www.isu.edu/stuhlth/insurance/pdfs/waiver.htm. We suggest you waive this prior to fee payment if applicable.
If you pay the insurance premium and later establish proof of coverage, you may request a refund through the Student Insurance Office or online at www.isu.edu/stuhlth/insurance/ref.shtml However, your request must be made within 10 days after fee payment.
Fees and tuition, or payment for your classes, are due by 5 p.m. on the first day of classes each semester to avoid penalties.
Buy Books -www.follett.com
You can purchase new and used books at the ISU bookstore in the basement of the ISU Student Union or the Bennion Student Union. Take a list of your classes with the titles and index numbers.
