Geosciences Geotechnology Programs

ISU geotechnologies academic programs engage students in a vibrant and growing field of study that extends beyond the classroom to the computer lab and into the field. Over the past few decades, GIS, remote sensing, GPS, computational geography, and spatial visualization have become fundamental tools for facilitating work in multiple disciplines (e.g. geology, biology, anthropology, history) and geotechnology is now recognized as its own discipline.

ISU’s comprehensive geotechnologies programs address the significant demand for trained experts in geospatial science and technology through academic programs of study within the College of Science and Engineering, College of Arts and Letters, and the College of Technology. This site is focused on the programs operated through the Department of Geosciences.
