YOU ARE A FRESHMAN IF:
- you are enrolling directly from high school, or
- you have not enrolled in another college or university after graduating from high school, or
- you have less than 14 transferable academic credits
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
High School Graduates
High school graduates seeking assured admissions will meet the following requirements.
- Completed Undergraduate Application.
- Received 2.5 or better cumulative GPA.
- Received test scores meeting the following:
- Math score of at least 18 on ACT or 490 on SAT,
- English score of at least 18 on ACT or 460 on SAT Critical Reading.
- Idaho high school graduates must meet all Idaho Core Requirements.
- Paid $50 application fee.
Please note: An Idaho student will be evaluated for completion of the Idaho Core Requirements once an official copy of the final high school transcript is received. Also, a student may be granted automatic conditional admission if they are short in only one or two Idaho core classes but still meet the above criteria.
Conditional Admission: High school graduates can be offered conditional admission if they meet the following requirements: a cumulative GPA of 2.25 or higher; Math score of 12 or higher on ACT, or 270 or higher on SAT; and English score of 12 or higher on ACT, or 360 or higher on SAT Critical Reading.
Admission Requirements for College of Technology (professional technical programs)
- Complete the College of Technology Application
- Submit an official high school transcript or GED
- Submit COMPASS/ACT/SAT test scores
- Paid $50 application fee

Home School Students
Home school students seeking assured admission will meet the following requirements:
- Completed Undergraduate Application with the $50 nonrefundable application fee paid.
- Received test scores meeting the following:
- Composite score of at least 21 on ACT or 980 combined SAT Math and Critical Reading score,
- Math score of at least 18 on ACT or 490 on SAT,
- English score of at least 18 on ACT or 460 on SAT Critical Reading exam.
- Meet one of the following:
- Passing score on the GED, or
- Completion of the COMPASS tests in Math, Reading, Writing Skills, and Writing Essay, with scores of at least 40 in Math/Algebra and at least 68 in Reading.
Conditional Admission: Home School applicants can be offered admission if they meet the following requirements: Composite score of at least 20 on ACT or 940 combined SAT Math and Critical Reading score; Math score of at least 12 on ACT or 270 on SAT; English score of at least 12 on ACT or 360 on SAT Critical Reading exam; and either 1) passing score on the GED, or 2) completion of the COMPASS tests in Math, Reading, Writing Skills, and Writing Essay, with scores of at least 40 in Math/Algebra and at least 68 in Reading.
GED Students
GED students younger than 18 years of age must petition the Admission Committee to be considered for admission.
GED students between 18 and 21 years of age seeking assured admission will meet the following requirements:
- Completed Undergraduate Application with the $50 nonrefundable application fee paid.
- Received test scores meeting the following:
- Composite score of at least 21 on ACT or 980 combined SAT Math and Critical Reading score,
- Math score of at least 18 on ACT or 490 on SAT,
- English score of at least 18 on ACT or 460 on SAT Critical Reading exam.
- Passing score on the GED
Conditional Admission: applicants can be offered admission if they meet the following requirements: Composite score of at least 20 on ACT or 940 combined SAT Math and Critical Reading score; Math score of at least 12 on ACT or 270 on SAT; English score of at least 12 on ACT or 360 on SAT Critical Reading exam; and a passing score on the GED.
GED students over 21 years of age must have a passing GED score with a 450 (45) average and no individual score below 410 (41), and Compass scores of at least 40 in Math/Algebra and at least 68 in Reading. Applicants not meeting these requirements can petition the Admission Committee to be considered for admission.
