The meeting of the Faculty Professional Polices Council was convened at 3:40 p.m. in Room #316 of the Business Administration Building.

Approval of Minutes: Minutes of the March 3, 1999 meeting were approved (w/corrections).

Wording of Handbook re: Emeritus Status: Cindy Wilson moved to approve the proposed revisions (David Beard and Linda Hatzenbueler) for Emeritus status in the Faculty/Staff Handbook. David Beard seconded. The motion was unanimously approved. (See attachment).

Discussion of Student Evaluations for Faculty Assessment: The council agreed the sole use of student evaluations in faculty assessment should be reviewed. It was agreed that members of the council would bring in standard questionnaires for student assessment from their individual departments for comparison. The council also discussed means for disclosure of methods where numerical analysis is involved.

Discussion of Dating Policy for Faculty and Students: Sharon Sieber agreed to meet with Linda Hatzenbuehler to discuss statement on faculty dating policy for recommendation to Faculty Senate.

Discussion of Privacy Issue for Students and Faculty: David Beard agreed to research issues regarding privacy of student records as well as faculty rights with regard to privacy.

Election of PPC chair for Academic Year 99-2000: It was agreed to postpone voting until the next meeting.

The next meeting was scheduled for April 14, 1999 at 3:30 pm in BA 316.

The meeting adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
