FPPC Meeting Minutes February 16, 2001

Present: Beard (Chair), Bhushan, Campbell, Hitchcock, Jacobson, Laquer, Ronald

Absent: Egger (excused), Hatzenbuehler, Miller, Pumphrey

I. Minutes of February 9, 2001 were approved 7-0-0 with corrections. Will pass

minutes on to Faculty Senate.

II. Business

A. Ronald presented a proposal, based on a discussion with other council members,

of names for non-tenure track full-time faculty. Based on this proposal, the council

agreed in principle to modify the current handbook language with respect to non-tenure

track faculty augmenting the research/clinical faculty section to include "Special Instructional"

faculty and modify these titles to include “Assistant Lecturer, and Senior Lecturer.” Titles

for various visiting faculty may also be simplified.
