Charges from Faculty

i.
To establish a rank of “Distinguished Professor” above the
rank of full professor.
It was noted
that there is one faculty member with the rank of “University Professor”. That model might be used to establish a
Distinguished Professor rank.
Action: Moved by Smith and seconded by Adamcik to
table this item until the faculty can be polled for ideas and more research can
be found about the University Professor.
Passed unanimously.
ii.
Revise ISU workload policy to insure greater flexibility for
time-specific, semi-specialization in scholarship/research/creative activities,
teaching or service.
It is the wish
of the Faculty Senate to make the workload policy more flexible to include the
full lifespan of faculty. Adamcik
recommended visiting the accreditation team’s report. The council will wait for this to come back to ISU.
