council. Keeter had been on leave all last semester. Faculty Senate will be informed to take nominations from Arts & Sciences to replace Keeter on the Faculty Professional Policies Council.
3. Meeting times
The meeting times were discussed and set for the second Thursday of each month from 2:00 – 4:00. The FPPC meetings have been scheduled on the following days for this semester:
October 10
November 14
December 12
4. New Business
a. F/S Handbook changes - Laquer stated that the F/S Handbook has changed the policy in Section 4.4.b. These changes apparently never came through to the Faculty Senate or any of the councils. The council discussed if there is a mechanism to inform faculty regarding changes made in the handbook and the role of faculty in implementing changes. There was discussion regarding the online handbook vs. hard copy. FPPC will look into these changes.
b. Promotion and Tenure Committee Composition - Adamcik stated that the council may want to look at how tenure and promotional committees are formed throughout the campus. The P&T committees include both tenure and non-tenure faculty, however there is no policy defining the ratios between tenured and non-tenured faculty. FPPC will look into this matter.
III. Adjourn at 2:50 pm.
Action: Moved by Bhushan and seconded by Leung to adjourn.
