I. Minutes of March 6, 2002
Action: Moved by Egger and seconded by Bhushan to approve the minutes of the March 6, 2002 meeting with corrections. Passed unanimously.
a. Chair for Faculty Professional Policies Council 2002-2003
Action: Moved by Beard and seconded by Egger to nominate Terry Miller as Chair of Faculty Professional Policies Council 2002-2003.
Action: Moved by Beard and seconded by Bhushan
to close nominations for Chair of Faculty Professional Policies Council
2002-2003. Passed unanimously.
Terry Miller was elected as
Chair of Faculty Professional Policies Council for 2002-2003.
b. Clinical Faculty Professional Leave -
Beard handed out copies of a letter from Faculty Senate stating that this proposal be remanded back to the Council for the following issues:
1) There were no recommendations where the money for leaves will come from.
2) Is there support from the College of Health Professions?
3) Wording should be the same as the sabbatical leave in the F/S Handbook.
Action: Moved by Egger and seconded by Bhushan
to take no action to this proposal at this time. Passed unanimously.
Discussion: Hatzenbuehler stated that this policy would not impact the College of Health Professions. At the end of the semesters, if there is money left in the sabbatical pool, it goes to the Clinical Faculty.
