FPPC Minutes of May 4, 2001

 

Present: Beard (Chair), Campbell, Egger, Jacobson, Leung, Miller, Ronald

 

Absent: Bhushan (excused),Hatzenbuehler (excused), Hitchcock (excused),

               Laquer (excused)

 

I.             Minutes of April 27, 2001 were approved 8-0-0.

 

II.          Business

        

         A.  Council reviewed the final draft for ‘adjunct faculty’. The council added to

   the final draft three new lecturer ranks for teaching faculty and eliminated a

   number of adjunct ranks. The new faculty ranks are ‘Lecturer’, ‘Associate

   Lecturer’ and ‘Senior Lecturer’.  The Council discussed amendments needed

   to the numbering and lettering in the draft.  Some council members discussed

   waiting on the approval of the draft until the first meeting of the Fall semester

   2001, to make sure amendments would be made to the final copy.  Council

   decided to approve the proposal at the final meeting.

 

               Action: Moved by Egger and seconded by Beard to approve the Proposed

               Revision By FPPC of Handbook wrt non-tenure-track faculty.  Motion passed

               unanimously with a count of 7-0-0.

 

B.     This was the final meeting of the Council for the school year of 2000-01.  The

      FPPC will hold meetings for Fall semester 2001 on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday

               of every month from 10:00 to 12:00pm.
