The Faculty Professional Policies Council was temporarily suspended by the State Board of Education (SBOE) on 2/17/2011 until such time as a new Faculty Constitution and new Faculty Senate Bylaws are approved and implemented.
The Faculty Professional Policies Council is responsible for recommending University policy and procedures in the areas of employment and retention; salary and other compensation; appeals; and grievances. These include policies of academic freedom and due process; policies pertaining to faculty appointment, reappointment, tenure, promotion, termination and non-reappointment; appeals and grievances; salary distribution policies; emeritus status; sabbatical leave; consulting; faculty professional recognition and development; and legislative policies such as those of the State Board of Education or other proposals affecting faculty welfare.
