COUNCIL FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING

Minutes

(Approved by CTL at the November 29, 2004 meeting)

Time: 10:15 am

Place:  Biological Sciences Seminar Room, Gale Life Sciences Building

Present: Bunde, Devaud, Kunicki, McGinnis, Smith, Squires, Packer, Nuhfer, Reynolds, and Dean

Absent: Adkison, Reis, Jones, Watson, and Wabrek

           

1.  It was established that a quorum was present  -

     Minutes of April 23, 2004 

     Action:  Moved by Devaud and seconded by Kunicki to approve the minutes of April

     23, 2004 with corrections. Passed unanimously.

 

2.      Recommendations for campus-wide, long-term instructional facilities improvement- 

The Council members read through the draft proposal to make changes to language.  A final draft will be completed from any changes.

 

3.       Action: It was moved and seconded to table the discussion on the Bylaws changes to the council membership.  The discussion will be taken up again during the fall semester. 

 

4.  Action:  It was moved and seconded to accept the report from the ad hoc committee

on Recommendations for campus-wide, long term instructional facilities improvement, with the agree-upon amendments.  Passed unanimously.

 

5.  Dean demonstrated the on-line survey (and related database) of instructional

facilities (http://134.50.148.203/isu_ctl/) and encouraged council members to make suggestions to the categories.  There was a short discussion on when the survey will be made available to faculty and instructors.

 

6.  Smith and Dean plan to distribute the final versions of the two documents (Memo and

the Recommendations) to CTL members by Friday afternoon, receive suggestions until the morning of Monday, May 3, and then submit the documents to Dr. Lawson and Faculty Senate by mid-day.

 

7.   Smith thanked all the council members for their efforts over the past year.
