February 19, 1998
Student Union Building
Bear River Room, 3:00 p.m.
A.Attendance: Darrell Buffaloe,
Ernie Naftzger, Bobbie Hyde, Bill Vaughn, Dona Bell.
II. OLD BUSINESS
A. Due to the fact that there were not enough
members to make a quorum, the minutes of
November 19, 1997, were not approved at this time.
Jana was available to address the Council members regarding that the
Greek organizations would like to have banners that might be displayed
on the sidewalk area that goes through the quad. This is a follow-up of
a previous approval that was made during 1997 that banners would be allowed
and that Darrell would fund them. The Council members recommended that
the coat of arms and symbols of the respective organizations would be appropriate
for the banners. They also felt that the banners should be uniform in size.
It was asked if Jana could have designs that could be presented at the
next meeting for Council approval and she said she would.
III. NEW BUSINESS
A. Flag Pole by Frazier
Darrell passed around a picture of the existing flag pole remains
that is in front of Frazier Hall and also pictures of the plaques that
are on the base. The flag pole has not been utilized for quite some time.
The Elks organization is requesting that they be given permission to remove
and retain the plaques in their lodge area. Darrell is going to check with
other sources to see if there is any objection to giving these plaques
to the Elks. He will report his findings back to the Council.
IV. NEXT MEETINGThe next meeting was tentatively scheduled for Thursday, March 19,
1998, at 4:00 p.m. in the Snake River Room of the Student Union.
