Qualification Programs in Medical Interpretation and
Translation
In order to obtain a qualification in Medical Interpretation
and Translation in the state of Idaho, you must attend a 16-hour workshop and
pass both an ethics exam and an oral exam.
As Idaho does not have a state-sponsored medical certification program,
these must be pursued through independent agencies. At the moment, we strongly recommend
attending a workshop run by the Morales Dimmick Translation Service because they
have a long-standing relationship providing these services to health care
entities in Idaho and across the nation.
This service also offers training in cooperation with the State’s Court
Interpreter Training Program Idaho Court Interpreter for those interested in
becoming a State Court Interpreter. For
more information, and for schedules of upcoming retreats and trainings, please
go to their website at www.MDtranslation.com .
Scheduled training sessions for Fall 2013:
August 16-21- Court Interpreter Training Retreat - Punta Cana
Melia Caribe Tropical Resort
October 1-2 - Basic Training for Interpreters in Health Care -
Boise
October 4-5 - Basic Training for Interpreters in Health Care -
Twin Falls
Idaho State University is not associated with the Morales
Dimmick Translation Service in any official capacity and does not receive any
revenues from their business.
